About
We Will Rock You is a jukebox musical based on the songs of British rock band Queen with a book by Ben Elton. The musical tells the story of a group of Bohemians who struggle to restore the free exchange of thought and fashion, and live music in a distant future where everyone dresses, thinks and acts the same.
The musical is set in the year 2300, on a dystopian Earth where the Global Domination Corporation (GDC) has taken control of the world. GDC has banned all live music and has brainwashed the population into thinking that the only good music is their own. A group of Bohemians, led by Galileo Figaro, Scaramouche, and Meat, are determined to restore the free exchange of thought and fashion, and to bring back live music.
We Will Rock You features many of Queen's most popular songs, including "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Are the Champions," "Radio Ga Ga," and "Don't Stop Me Now." It has been praised for its catchy songs, its energetic performances, and its humor. The musical has been a commercial success, and has been seen by over 20 million people worldwide.
